We will spend three days in the rainforest at the Kumanii Christian Center, a base from which our host group conducts medical missions several times a year. The Center is accessible only by canoe - a three hour ride up the Cayapas River, which has its mouth along the Pacific coast.

While there, we will distribute toothbrushes, toothpaste, parasite pills, and vitamins to approximately 1,500 members of the Chachi Indian tribe. The Chachi speak their native tongue - Chachi - so we will need to have interpreters with us who can translate from English to Spanish, and from Spanish to Chachi.

This video was produced by a group who visited Kumanii last year as part of a medical mission effort. It contains fabulous footage of where we will be.

This is another video, produced by a group that entered the rainforest to offer free eye care, of the Kumanii area.
